2026 Changing the Narrative Events

Throughout the year, Kids’ Book Bank staff will host events around the theme of Books Change the Narrative. These online and in-person events are open to anyone interested in learning about the Kids’ Book Bank, literacy in Cleveland, and how partners are working together to impact literacy in our area.

Changing the Narrative – Lunch & Learns via Zoom

Held on the second Thursday of each month

Executive Director Natalie Friedl hosts this monthly online event. Each month, a new guest(s) joins Natalie to talk about an aspect of book distribution, literacy in Cleveland, or other related topics.

January’s event featured Natalie in conversation with Kids’ Book Bank Operations Director Colleen Watt talking about our book acquisition and distribution systems.

Future events will feature Kids’ Book Bank co-founders Judy Payne and Judi Kovach, local authors, and many more.

Changing the Narrative – Books & Brunch

Books & Brunch is an in-person event in the Mandel Literacy Hub that includes a tour of the new home of the Kids’ Book Bank and a brief presentation over light refreshments.

If you haven’t been to our new home, this is a great opportunity to visit. If you can’t attend but would like to have a tour, please contact events@kidsbookbank.org to request a tour time.
